The Islamic Fiqh Academy had embarked upon its auspicious mission 19 years ago. During this period it has played a significant role in providing Fiqhi guidance in the field of modern issue. Islam has always confronted with contemporary issues and such institutions are badly needed to sort out these issues, collective deliberations, solution to new issues, maintaining Islamic unity despite sectarian difference, is one of the fundamental objections of the Academy.
The Academy has held 16 seminars during the period 1989 to 2007. More than 70 contemporary issues were deliberated and collective decisions were taken. Among the land mark decisions of the Academy are Islam and world peace, Internet use of modern means of media, organ transplantation etc. Translation of 45 volumes of the Fiqhi Encyclopedia is a great achievement of the Academy.
