“All Praise be to Allah Almighty and salutations to the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him. Thereafter, Verily the Islamic Fiqh Academy of India holds a very prestigious position among the literary Islamic Academies of the world.

It was established in the year 1989 to serve as the focal point for the jurists of Islamic Fiqh and to provide them a common platform for all the research relating to the requirements of comtemporary issues emanating from the changing environment providing for solutions to the questions arising out of changing technologies.

The Academy therefore has to its credit a lot of achievements with regards to the jurisprudence requirement of the modern times and to its credit is the translation of the fiqha heritage from and to Arabic. It has organized great many seminars on various burning topics with regards to Islamic Jurisprudence providing for unambiguous solutions to questions with regards to the demands of the changing times in the light of the Quran and Sunnah.

We are therefore touched by the work they have done and request all those who can to contribute to the Academy in cash and kind of what ever value they can to help the organization flourish and serve the community.

Praising Allah in the beginning and at the end and salutations to the Messenger and his companions”.

“The Indian Muslims are the largest Muslim Minority of the world numbering more than 20 crores. They have their own Fiqh Academy which is hugely popular with the scholars of the whole Ummah. It is such an Islamic Centre that apart from religious teachings it indulges in Fiqhi research, shariah studies and conducts fiqhi seminars. It also translates into Urdu and other languages the books relating to Fiqh research and therefore in effect it is creating an academic and Fiqhi Cadre of Indian Muslim scholars.

This Academy doesn’t need a referral or introduction since it is widely known and very much appreciated for its moderate and middle path approach with no extreme ideologies.

At the moment The Academy is in need of all help in efforts and otherwise and it is worth mentioning that the Academy has no financial backing of its own niether does it have any such endowment as in properties and all its finances are born by contributions from its well wishers.

Therefore I appeal to all those seeking the reward from Allah the lord of the worlds that they come forward to support the academy so that it remains till the day of rewards with the Almighty who rewards on the day of the Judgment and does not waste even an iota of the good deeds that one carries on for that day and Allah says in Surah Muzammil verse number 20;

And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward.”

“Praise be to the Lord of the world and salutations be upon the messenger of peace for the worlds and family and all companions and then;

This our age is unique for the revolution in information the peaking of knowledge, multitude of inventions fast paced developments newer issues the complexity of new contractual issues. All this was not known to the past and neither had the previous scholars of Islamic Jurisprudence faced similar situations and all this has pushed the limits of ijtihad the struggle to arrive at a consensual agreement by application of the principles of jurisprudence.

But these modern issues are complex in  nature and any ruling or pronunciation with regards to these issue don’t only have far reaching effects on the Muslims but the whole human race. It is therefore advised that these rulings should not be uttered by individuals or individual institutions based on individual knowledge which at times could be right and at times could also be wrong but rather such issues should be brought to rigorous debate in the public domain by eminent individuals and institutions with limitless resources of knowledge so as to arrive at a consensus after fully satisfying the parameters required very much so since the consensus on several occasions remain illusive.

In this backdrop the need for the national and international academies came to light and therefore first of all under AZHAR University the “Majma albuhooth al Islamia” was established in 1961, and the under the “Rabitat al aalam al Islami” al majma alfiqhi al Islami was established and thereafter under OIC munazzama al mutamar al islami “International Islamic Fiqh Academy was established in 1981 and then only a country wise or minority wise regional Fiqh Academies came into be formed. Out of these the most important with respect to a country is the ISLAMIC FIQH ACADEMY - INDIA, whose foundation was laid in the year 1988. It had lofty aims the most important ones being;

To find solution to the issues arising due to social, economic, industrial changes leading to technological developments in the light of the Quran conforming to the Sunnah and very much in line with the great Islamic predecessors whose commitments are firmly grounded to the shariah.

 To study the modern time issues that demand thorough study of the fiqh in relation to the issues at hand and come up with brilliant solutions in conformity with the shariah.

Having continuously been in touch with this academy of great respect and having taken part in the various seminars it conducted and having gone though their research work I have come to the conclusion that it is greatly successful in providing solutions to the plethora of issue facing the community with reference to shariah issues. It is estimated that the Muslims are around 20 crores spread across this country of the Indian subcontinent.

It is also to be drawn to the fact that in study of the cases at hand and providing for solutions fundamentals of religion are the pillars and guiding principle for the academy. Verily as the adage goes the rulings of the Academy are true to the proverb “OLD WAS BETTER AND NEW IS BENEFICIAL”and it further is strengthened by the saying that wisdom is the lost treasure of the believer and where ever he finds it he should pick it up.

The best part of the Academy is that it unites Muslims and also the Muslim Scholars therefore scholars of various schools of Fiqh attend the seminars together, argue and prove their points in a congenial environment and greatly benefit from one another in a mutually enhancing environment.

Academy publishes all past rulings in their papers and all great value material collected from their efforts in the form of books. Nowadays it comes out with a magazine which is very popular with the scholars and a great reference for them too.

In short The Islamic Fiqh Academy is a commendable effort among the many such international academies which not only benefits the Muslims of India but the whole Islamic world which has come to look at newer avenues of solutions to their shariah issues.

I pray to Allah Almighty that He gives much more will to the academy enhances its grip on the path of truth and success and gives long life to the office-bearers of the academy so that they come up with more of the good work they are doing for the Muslim Community and may Allah also reward with best of rewards all those people extending their support to the academy by way of contributions in the form of knowledge, cash and kind.. And the end of my prayers is to praise the Almighty Allah and send my salutations to the messenger his family and companions.”

“I frankly confess that the services of the “Islamic Fiqh Academy, India” are outstanding. It is considered as the place of reference with regard to solving the contemporary issues. The Academy has been continuously endeavoring for about 19 years for finding out solutions to Shariah issues. It has the full cooperation of the accomplished Islamic jurists and scholars of India. The academic field of the Academy is very broad and comprehensive. There are the works of research and study on the one hand, the intellectual and academic training of the fresh graduates from Madrasas on the other. Briefly speaking, the endeavors of the Academy in all directions are praiseworthy.

May God bestow His rewards to Qazi Mujahidul Islam Qasmi (R), who established an Academy that is unparalleled in its efficacy and value. The Academy is also responsible for the translation of Fiqhi Encyclopedia published by the Ministry of Auqaf, which is being excellently accomplished by the Academy.

Praise be to God, that I got the opportunity to participate in some of its seminars. I found them better and more valuable than other seminars in the Subcontinent.  I verify that the Academy has abundant academic affairs wherein it needs the assistance of generous persons so that Islam and Muslims may be served better.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Academy enjoys very cordial relations with the Islamic scholars, jurists, academicians, professors and sheikhs of Kuwait and Deeni and Community institutions there.”
